Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Custom Shop 1962 Stratocaster “Yamano Special” in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An exceedingly rare Custom Shop Stratocaster from an era where production totals were a fraction of today’s output and the Custom Shop team was much smaller, this Strat was made expressly for Fender’s Japanese distributor, Yamano.
Features include a heavily figured birdseye maple neck, a slab rosewood fretboard with a modern 9 ½” radius, and an alder body loaded with a trio of vintage-spec black bobbin pickups. Acoustically lively and chiming, these qualities are channeled through the pickups which feature cloth-covered leads, staggered/beveled pole pieces, and black fiber bobbins.
