1997 Charvel Dinky HH DK24 Ikebe Limited Edition Gunmetal Gray w/ Floyd Rose, Japan

1997 Charvel Dinky HH DK24 Ikebe Limited Edition Gunmetal Gray w/ Floyd Rose, Japan

Up for sale, a 1997 Charvel Dinky HH DK24 limited edition model in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Ostensibly a model made exclusively for Japanese retailer Ikebe based on the factory markings, this rare Charvel was only available to the Japanese domestic market, featuring a pair of Gotoh humbuckers, a Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo, 24-fret maple cap fretboard, and a gloss Gunmetal Gray finish.

The Gotoh humbuckers comprise an LP-38 at the neck and an LP-HM at the bridge: the LP-38 is wound in the PAF range, yielding an ideal balance of smoothness, warmth, and articulation, with great harmonic bloom. The LP-HM is slightly more powerful and punchy, with focused midrange aggression and note attack, taking gain notably well. This Charvel weighs 7lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple (quartersawn)
-Shape: Slender D, measuring .760” 1st fret, .855” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple cap, 24-fret, dot inlay
-Frets: Jumbo, virtually no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), locking
-Tuners: Gotoh, Charvel-branded
-Serialization: Stamped on neck plate
-Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel/pocket, heel dated 9-5-2 (9th year of Heisei era, translating to 1997)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: Gotoh LP-38 (neck, meters 7.4k ohms), LP-HM (bridge, meters 8.75k)
-Harness: Untouched solder, full-size Japanese pots
-Hardware: Gotoh, Charvel-branded and Floyd Rose-licensed, dome-top knurled knobs

The gloss Gunmetal Gray finish shows only a few light finish scratches on the back, well shy of “buckle rash,” a couple small finish chips along the body perimeter, and a few additional minor marks on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth satin finish, and there is a chip in the maple at the headstock's point.
