2006 Fender Custom Shop NAMM Limited Edition 1959 Stratocaster Relic + Pro Junior Shoreline Gold (One-Off) w/ COA, Case

2006 Fender Custom Shop NAMM Limited Edition 1959 Stratocaster Relic + Pro Junior Shoreline Gold (One-Off) w/ COA, Case

Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1959 Stratocaster Relic and Pro Junior 1x10” tube amp in collector-grade, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, amp slip cover, CoA, all hangtags, and case candy. Produced for the 2006 NAMM trade show, just a handful of these Stratocasters and Pro Junior pairs were offered, one each in many of Fender’s most popular custom colors. This is the only example finished in Shoreline Gold nitro lacquer.

Weighing 7lbs 9oz, tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and notably dark rosewood fretboard. The trio of Custom Shop Fat ‘50s pickups deliver quintessential Stratocaster tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch, featuring period-correct construction with formvar wire, Alnico magnets (vintage stagger and bevel), and cloth-covered leads. The Fat ‘50s are designed for enhanced bass response without any midrange harshness; the bridge pickup has a sweet, woody cut, the neck is full-sounding and gutsy, and the "in-between” positions have hollow quack, with a low noise-floor thanks to the reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup. This 1959 Stratocaster Relic has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: ‘60s-style C, measuring .820” 1st fret, .960” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 9 1/2" radius
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2"
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style
-Serialization: R-prefix (neck plate)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Custom Shop Fat ‘50s single coil x3
-Harness: CTS 250k pots, paper-in-oil tone cap
-Hardware: Vintage-spec Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply mint pickguard, cream pickup covers/knobs

The gloss custom color Shoreline Gold nitro lacquer finish on both the guitar and amplifier have been treated with a subtle Relic (just a few simulated nicks and dings), and there is no discernable wear on either beyond the factory aging. The smooth nitro gloss on the neck profile is immaculate.

The Pro Junior is a simple, pure all-tube platform, delivering tons of character in a compact form factor, retaining the original blue frame Eminence-made alnico magnet speaker. While the Pro Junior does deliver sparkling, dynamic cleans at low volumes, this amp is at its best in creamy tube breakup territory, yielding touch-sensitive sizzle and smooth overdrive around 3 on the dial. The circuit is untouched, and the amp is loaded with a matched pair of EL84 power tubes and the original Fender-branded 12AX7s in the preamp.

The original G&G Deluxe black tolex hardshell case and Custom Shop amp slip cover are included, along with the serialized CoA (dated 5/23/06), all hangtags, and case candy.
