Inspired by Martin’s finest Pre-War dreadnoughts, this D-28 is a premium Marquis variant, boasting top-tier tonewoods and cosmetic appointments, with features including an Adirondack spruce top with forward-shifted X-bracing, a modified V neck, Waverly tuning machines, herringbone purfling, and grained ivoroid binding.

Exceptionally even-tempered and balanced in the way that only the best Martins can be, this D-28 Marquis is crisp, clear and immediate in its response. There’s tons of projection on tap, and the low end is bold and defined with a high volume ceiling, yielding just a touch of natural compression when digging in with a flatpick.
