Up for sale, a 2014 Jext Telez Dizzy Tone V1 in mint condition and in perfect working order. This Dizzy Tone is one of the first 80 made (the entire V1 run), with a transistor set that wouldn’t be duplicated in later versions.
The Dizzy Tone is an exacting big box recreation of the original 1966-67 Elka Dizzy Tone, which was itself a variant of the legendary Sola Sound Tonebender MKIII; the Dizzy Tone was a slightly edgier, meaner version of the MKIII, particularly full-sounding, with all the roaring, spitting and screaming you could want on tap.
To create the Dizzy Tone, Jext Telez de-soldered a well-kept original unit and measured the drift on the original components, ensuring that this modern recreation performs just like a genuine vintage example. To that end, at the heart of this Dizzy Tone are three NOS germanium transistors, carefully sourced and circuit-tested, with two SFT352s feeding the heavily sought-after SFT308. The trebles are present and aggressive, the midrange is focused and immediate, and this Dizzy Tone can easily get into gated splat and brutal bite when dialed up, fine tuned and perfectly balanced at all levels.
The big box wedge enclosure features a black hammerite finish, and there’s barely a mark on it. On the interior, the inspection sticker is dated 5/2014.
