1973 Gibson Les Paul Signature Vintage Semi-Hollow Guitar Goldtop, Near-Mint & 100% Original w/ Case
1973 Gibson Les Paul Signature Vintage Semi-Hollow Guitar Goldtop, Near-Mint & 100% Original w/ Case
Ingenious in its construction, this first-year Les Paul Signature has its maple center block attached to the back to reduce feedback, yet there's purposeful space between the top and the block so that the top can vibrate freely and produce a tonal breadth more in-line with a fully hollow instrument. Outfitted with a pair of low impedance “Super Humbucking” pickups (not to be confused with the Bill Lawrence-designed pickup of the same moniker), the Signature provides a traditional palette of humbucker tones, but with settings that could also provide deeper bass and highs that can transition from silky, to bell-like, to searing. The three-way rotary Level knob was designed to match the instrument's tone with different amplifiers: the three settings are 50 (strongest signal, heaviest bass), 200 (increased upper midrange and treble frequencies, reduced fundamental) and 500 (maximum treble and reduced fundamental characteristics), and the Phase In/Out control enables slinky out-of-phase sounds. Weighing 8lbs 1oz, this Les Paul Signature has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
