1975 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Vintage Guitar Cherry, Humbucker Conversion w/ 57 Classic PAFs, Bigsby B7 & Case
1975 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Vintage Guitar Cherry, Humbucker Conversion w/ 57 Classic PAFs, Bigsby B7 & Case
Weighing 10lbs 8oz, there’s no shortage of sustain and punch on tap, and being a maple necked Les Paul, there’s also a boost in the brightness and cut of this Les Paul’s natural acoustic response. The pair of ‘57 Classic PAF humbuckers are faithfully constructed to ‘50s spec with Alnico II magnets, delivering tailored midrange clarity, warm spongy lows, and clear trebles, with focused growl at the bridge and fat bark at the neck. This Les Paul Deluxe has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple (three-piece)
-Shape: Slender-to-chunky C, measuring .795” 1st fret, .985” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, pearloid flared trapezoid inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, refret, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 11/16”
-Tuners: Kluson Deluxe double-line (vintage spec, modern)
-Serialization: 99-prefix (sticker) dates to ‘75
Body Specs:
-Wood: Maple, mahogany
-Pickups: ‘57 Classic PAF humbucker x2
-Harness: CTS pots date to ‘75, bridge Volume replaced (1978 source date code)
-Hardware: ABR-1 bridge + Bigsby B7 vibrato (modern)
-Plastics: One-ply pickguard, amber bonnet knobs (modern)
The top has been refinished in Cherry nitro lacquer, with limited overspray along the perimeter and isolated rack rash on either side of the lower strap button. The original finish is retained on the mahogany body, maple neck and peghead. There is moderate buckle rash at the bass-side and some minor marks consistent with use, while the routing for the full-size humbuckers is minimal and well done. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with some cosmetic checking along the seam of the bass-side third.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
