1975 Rickenbacker 4001 Vintage Neck Through Bass Mapleglo w/ Toaster Top, Case

Up for sale, a 1975 Rickenbacker 4001 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Mapleglo 4001 has been augmented with a genuine Toaster Top neck pickup and a modern Hipshot bridge (original bridge included).

Featuring neck-through maple body construction, this Rickenbacker thumps and growls with the best and offers healthy sustain, weighing 9lbs 12oz. The pickups deliver plenty of midrange power and punch, with the original Hi-Gain pickup at the bridge and a Toaster Top at the neck, with excellent top-end articulation and grind accentuated by the fresh set of 45-100 roundwound strings. This Rickenbacker 4001 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

-Wood: Maple/Walnut
-Shape: Round D, full shoulders, measuring .890” 1st & 12th frets
-Fretboard: Rosewood, triangular inlays
-Frets: Slender, moderate wear on frets 1-7
-Scale Length: 33 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650”
-Headstock: Lucite truss rod cover
-Tuners: Clover buttons

Body Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: Hi-Gain (B), Toaster Top (N, replacement) single coils
-Electronics: Volume x2, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Harness: CTS pots date to the 35th week of '74, Sprague caps
-Hardware: Hipshot bridge (replacement, original included), pickup bezel
-Serialization: OE-prefix on stereo “Rick-o-Sound” jack plate dates to May, 1975
-Plastics: One-ply pickguard, reflector cap knobs, “baton” switch tip

The gloss Mapleglo finish shows buckle rash on the back at the waist, a few small chips along the lower bout perimeter, and various small dings and finish scratches. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with a scant few shallow marks.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the original bridge.
