1977 Roland System-100 Model-101 Vintage Analog Synthesizer, Serviced

1977 Roland System-100 Model-101 Vintage Analog Synthesizer, Serviced

Up for sale, a 1977 Roland System-100 Model-101 analog synthesizer in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Produced from 1975-79 and used by artists including Aphex Twin and Tears for Fears, the System-100 was a semi-modular five-piece synthesizer. This particular component is the Model-101 Synthesizer, the heart of the System-100, which is a full self-contained analog monophonic synth with great sonic flexibility and a classic warm ‘70s-style Roland sound. This well-kept unit has been cleaned and calibrated, with all functions operating as intended.

The Model-101 features a 37-note keyboard, with a full bank of sliders to control the wide array of features including the VCO, LFO, VCF lowpass/highpass filters, VCA with ADSR, Noise, Portamento/Glide, and more, logically configured from left to right. There’s also an A-440Hz tuning oscillator, like on a Minimoog, Glide Manual button, and a flashing LFO Frequency indicator LED. There are CV and Trigger I/O ports on the top of the enclosure, and while this unit is internally patched, there are a handful of optional external patch ports for alternate signal paths. This is a 100V unit originally designed for sale within Japan, but runs without issue at 120V on its regulated power supply.

The keys are flat with an even response and sparingly little yellowing of the key caps, and all original slider cap and knob is present. The enclosure is extremely clean, with practically pristine graphics and very little overall wear as pictured.
