1978 Gibson SG Custom 3-Pickup Vintage Guitar Alpine White w/ T Tops, Case
Weighing 7lbs 2oz, the all-mahogany construction yields excellent midrange warmth and growl, paired with the glassy treble snap of the ebony fingerboard. The replacement Dirty Fingers pickup at the bridge was designed specifically for high gain situations, with smooth compression and a thick, aggressive-yet-full sound. The pair of original Pat. # T Top humbuckers are lively and immediate; the neck is sweet and broad, and the middle and bridge pickup are wound in-phase in the central position for a rich, full-bodied breadth. This SG Custom has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

-Wood: Mahogany
-Shape: Slender-to-chunky U, measuring .770” 1st fret, .970” 12th fret

-Scale Length: 24 3/4”

The gloss Alpine White nitro lacquer finish shows only faint yellowing in the clear coat, with moderate buckle rash across the bass side of the back, a sliver of finish loss along the back body edge, and minor dings consistent with decades of careful usage, primarily concentrated at the lower bout. The neck profile has a smooth, fast feel, with palm wear down to the bare mahogany behind frets 2-7. There is a small area of replaced binding on the treble side of the peghead.
The original Protector molded hardshell “chainsaw” case is included.
