1978 Guild D-55 Vintage Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Near-Mint w/ Case, Westerly RI

Up for sale, a 1978 Guild D-55 NT in near-mint condition, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted at the Westerly, RI factory, this iteration of Guild’s flagship acoustic boasts all the classic features of this premiere dreadnought. This D-55 benefits from the work due an instrument of its vintage including a professional neck reset complete with compensated bone saddle.

Tonewoods include an X-braced Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back/sides, two-piece mahogany neck, and bound ebony fingerboard. Crisp, lively, and immediate, this D-55 is an exceptionally rewarding strummer, with terrific presence and projection. The treble strings are sparkling and full-bodied, while the wound strings are woody and punchy without sacrificing articulation or getting overly boomy. Weighing 5lbs 12oz, this D-55 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and comfortable action.
