1985 Ibanez Musician MC824 Vintage Neck Through Bass, 100% Original w/ J6 Humbuckers & Duo Sound Taps
1985 Ibanez Musician MC824 Vintage Neck Through Bass, 100% Original w/ J6 Humbuckers & Duo Sound Taps
The neck-through construction comprises three pieces of maple reinforced with strips of walnut, and the ash body wings sandwich a core of mahogany for a very complex and rich tone. Weighing 9lbs 9oz, the bass has healthy sustain with thick low end, offering both ample growl and broad thump. The commanding, detailed natural properties of this bass translate well through the pickup pair: the J6 humbuckers are big and full-bodied, with more top-end presence and punch at the bridge and a robust breadth at the neck. Additionally, the push/push Duo Sound switches at the Volume and Tone knobs enable coil splitting functionality for funky single coil-style cut and burp. This Musician MC824 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple/walnut (five-piece)
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .810” 1st “fret,” .940” at octave
-Fretboard: Rosewood, dot inlays
