Up for sale, a 1988 Fender “Order Made” Jazz Bass Fretless ‘62 vintage reissue model JB62FL in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This one-of-a-kind “Made in Japan” Fretless Jazz Bass was crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan as part of the Order Made program, which offered numerous non-catalog finish and component options. Order Made features on this instrument include the fretless fingerboard, heavy duty bridge, American Vintage series pickups, and sleek all-Black finish with matching headstock.
Lightweight at 8lbs 10oz, this Jazz Bass features a basswood body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fingerboard, and these tonewoods ensure a smooth, balanced acoustic response. The pickups are the same ones used in Fender’s early USA-made American Vintage models, with black fiber bobbins, push-back cloth-covered leads and alnico pole pieces. The bridge pickup offers a potent growl and distinctive upper midrange character, while the neck pickup has a thicker, broader quality and inherent smoothness further accentuated by the 45-100 flatwound strings.
