1991 Charvel by Jackson CST-060-SSH Superstrat S-Style See-Through Red w/ Case, Japan

Up for sale, a 1991 Charvel by Jackson model CST-060-SSH in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Japanese-made Charvel is a built-to-shred “Superstrat,” featuring an ash body, maple neck with a slab rosewood fretboard, two-point vibrato, and an SSH pickup complement.

The tonewoods deliver a balanced response with great midrange character and a snappy, authoritative note attack, qualities captured by the versatile pickup array. The original pair of Jackson J100 single coils have classic Strat-esque snap, with throaty fullness at the neck and ample hollow quack at the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch. The upgraded humbucker in the bridge position (unbranded) is akin to a modestly overwound PAF, metering at 8.5k ohms, delivering ample clarity and bite while maintaining a powerful, robust lower-midrange kick. This Charvel weighs 9lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Very slender C, full shoulders, measuring .760” 1st fret, .850” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Slab rosewood, 12" radius
-Frets: Jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2"
-Nut Width: 1 5/8"
-Tuners: Gold-plated, Jackson-branded Gotoh

Body Specs:

-Wood: Ash
-Pickups: Jackson J100 single coil x2, unbranded humbucker
-Harness: Full-size pots date to May, 1991
-Controls: Volume, Tone, five-way pickup selector

The gloss See-Through Red finish highlights the dynamic grain in the ash body, and cosmetic wear is limited to some faint buckle worming on the back and just a scant few microscopic nicks on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
