1997 Ibanez JS1000-BP Joe Satriani Signature Black Pearl HH w/ DiMarzio, Lo-Pro Edge
The DiMarzio pickup pair comprises a FRED at the bridge and a PAF Pro at the neck. Designed to interact well with high gain amps while delivering plenty of presence and rich harmonic content, the PAF Pro retains the dynamic, detailed qualities of the PAF design. Low notes have both snap and chunk with a midrange spike that provides a subtle cocked-wah response. The FRED, one of Satriani’s go-to pups on his personal guitars, has roughly the same power as the PAF Pro, but with tons of rich overtones, creating a sound with more crank and growl. The Tone control has a push/pull global Coil Tap, with a push/pull Treble Bleed control at the Volume knob, which maintains high end frequencies when the Volume is rolled off. Weighing 7lbs 10oz, this JS1000 has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: JS (slender C), measuring .805” 1st fret, .895” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 22-fret, abalone dot inlays, “JS Custom” inlay at 21st fret

The gloss Black Pearl finish exhibits some finish chips and minor dings, and there are some shallow nicks in the smooth satin finish on the neck profile that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
