2000 Fender American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass Lake Placid Blue w/ Tweed Case

2000 Fender American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass Lake Placid Blue w/ Tweed Case

Up for sale, a 2000 Fender American Vintage ‘62 Jazz Bass in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. While the features of this bass seem conventional, it's actually quite uncommon to see a '60s spec American Vintage Fender Jazz Bass produced from 1982-2012 with a three knob configuration. The vast majority produced had stack knob controls, and this particular Jazz Bass features the Volume/Volume/Tone configuration introduced on the model in '62.

Via the stock black bobbin pickup pair, the sound is equal parts low end warmth and midrange cut, with the smooth growl and upper midrange burp of the bridge pickup blending with the fullness of the neck position single coil, and rolling the Tone knob back to taste yields ample thump. Weighing 8lbs 14oz, this American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender U, measuring .815” 1st fret, .960” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 7 1/4“ radius
-Frets: Slender, leveled/crowned, no wear
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 1/2”
-Tuners: Clover button, reverse-geared
-Serialization: V-prefix (neck plate)

The gloss Lake Placic Blue finish has some horizontal checking and greening of the clear coat, pushing the hue towards turquoise. There are a couple small areas of rack rash on the lower bout perimeter, a few finish chips, and shallow buckle rash central to the back. An area of finish behind fret 6 (also attributed to rack rash) has been touched-up and smoothed out.

A brand new Fender-branded tweed hardshell case is included.
