2005 Fender Precision Bass '70 Vintage Reissue PB70-70US Lake Placid Blue Near-Mint w/ Hangtags, Japan CIJ
2005 Fender Precision Bass '70 Vintage Reissue PB70-70US Lake Placid Blue Near-Mint w/ Hangtags, Japan CIJ
One welcome deviation from vintage spec is a thick slab rosewood fretboard (as opposed to a thinner veneer board seen on actual vintage examples). With an alder body as its sonic foundation, this bass delivers the goods with warm thump, excellent articulation, and sweet treble growl. Weighing 10lbs, this PB70-70US has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .840” 1st fret, .945” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 5/8”, bone
-Tuners: Clover buttons
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan,” R-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: P-Bass Vintage split-coil (USA-made)
-Controls: Volume, Tone
-Hardware: Bridge with steel barrel saddles, “ashtray” pickup/bridge covers (aftermarket), flat-top knurled knobs
-Plastics: Three-ply black pickguard
This particular iteration of Lake Placid Blue is abbreviated "OLB" in the Fender Japan catalog for Old Lake Placid Blue, denoting a darker and more vintage-correct shade of this classic custom color than previous Fender Japan offerings. Cosmetic wear is limited to faint pick scuffing across the guard and a few minor nicks on the body. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded gigbag and serialized hangtags are included.
