Up for sale, a 2022 Gibson Custom Shop Historic 1959 Les Paul Standard R9 in mint condition, complete with the Lifton hardshell case, CoA, and all hangtags. Dealer sourced and never privately owned, this like-new R9 faithfully replicates the myriad finer points of a 1959 Les Paul Standard ‘Burst, released in limited quantities to celebrate the 70th year of Les Paul production, featuring a dimensional two-piece carved tiger flame maple top finished in Washed Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer gloss.
Lightweight at 8lbs 15oz, this Custom Shop Historic Les Paul is loaded with a pair of CustomBuckers, Gibson's latest highly praised PAF iteration. Featuring Alnico III magnets, these low-medium output pickups have all the chirp, honk, and bloom a player could want. The pickup set is dynamic, highly detailed, and balanced, comfortably versatile with any playing style. The bridge pickup has plenty of bite and growl, while the neck pickup has the buttery girth and power one expects without sacrificing clarity. This Custom Shop Historic 1959 Les Paul Standard R9 has been dialed in beyond the factory setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
