2025 Sola Sound La Suena Pro MKII Tone Bender Fuzz Nugget Gold, Mint w/ Box, Ian Sherwen
Widely considered one of the most important stompboxes of all time, the original Gary Hurst-designed MKII Tone Bender is most famously associated with Jimmy Page, who received one just prior to the recording of Led Zeppelin 1. It’s an immediately recognizable fuzz tone, with ample aggressive bite and headroom, ranging from thin buzzsaw sizzle to churning, bass-rich destruction with a turn of the Attack knob. The circuit features three Mullard OC74 Germanium transistors, carefully sourced from thousands of potential candidates, with very few making the cut. Sherwen’s particular voicing on this Tone Bender offers loads of MK1 attitude (shining through the obvious MKII tone), even yielding some “velcro” notes when rolled back.
The enclosure features a sand cast Nugget Gold finish, and the graphics are pristine. The inside of the baseplate dates to Jan 2025, signed by Ian Sherwen and hand-numbered #011.
The original box and factory paperwork are included, signed by Anthony and Steve Macari.
