Utilizing NOS Soviet-era germanium transistors and diodes, the Sputnik IIb shares the harmonic richness and wild nature of vintage fuzzes from the past, but in a new circuit with a unique voice and a wild double personality.
Characteristic of germanium fuzzes, all of the controls are quite interactive and a shockingly wide variety of sounds can be observed with experimentation. RANGE controls the gain of the fuzz, while the BASS toggle switch allows for three levels of bass response: (•) Original; (+) More; and the new (-) Less bass. The FILTER switch selects between three different voices for the CALIBRATE control, which adjusts the tone with an uncommon sweep.
