1961 Epiphone Century E-422T Vintage Thinline Hollowbody Guitar Sunburst, Collector-Grade w/ Case, Kalamazoo
Distinctive and highly desirable Epiphone cosmetics include the metal "bikini" headstock badge, white P-90 cover, and "E" epsilon on the raised tortoise pickguard. Making the most of its fully hollow thinline maple construction, the Century offers a big, clear sound and smooth bark that translates well through the centrally located pickup. The P-90 meters at 7.25k ohms, delivering a rich percussive chop when chording. Warm and sweet, the pickup is responsive to pick attack with punchy trebles and a textured growl when digging in hard. This Century is featherweight at 5lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The gloss “Shaded” (Sunburst) nitro lacquer is exceedingly clean, and of particular note is the Gibson X-prefix Factory Order Number stamped inside the body in addition to the serialized label. Highly unusual, the X-prefix dates to 1954, meaning this particular body was produced years before ultimately being finished and assembled. There is subtle curly figuring in the maple on the lower bout on top, with a few faint finish scratches and a couple shallow marks from buckle wear central to the back. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Gibson-branded faux alligator chipboard case is included.
