Up for sale, a 1961 Epiphone Century E-422T in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original chipboard case. Stunningly well-kept for the past 65 years, this USA-made Epiphone E-422T Century was produced under Gibson ownership at the Kalamazoo, MI factory, sharing the same tonewoods, electronics, and hardware as a Gibson ES-125T.
Distinctive and highly desirable Epiphone cosmetics include the metal "bikini" headstock badge, white P-90 cover, and "E" epsilon on the raised tortoise pickguard. Making the most of its fully hollow thinline maple construction, the Century offers a big, clear sound and smooth bark that translates well through the centrally located pickup. The P-90 meters at 7.25k ohms, delivering a rich percussive chop when chording. Warm and sweet, the pickup is responsive to pick attack with punchy trebles and a textured growl when digging in hard.
