1975 Greco L-200 Vintage Archtop Carved Top L-5 CES w/ Maxon U-3000 Pickups & Case, Japan Fujigen
Boasting a full 17" lower bout with a carved, tight-grain premium spruce top, curly maple sides, and bookmatched flame maple back, the size of this archtop yields rich textured tones with a distinct woody quality and complex midrange character. Naturally, the ebony fretboard imparts a glassy note attack and superior articulation integral in round, present tonalities in every register and the kind of note separation essential to complex Jazz chord voicings. One of the highest grade pickups offered on any Greco of their era, the pair of Maxon U-3000s are a highly sought-after Maxon humbucker, featuring Alnico 8 magnets with a response akin to a PAF. The bridge pickup has strong chirp and honk, with a touch-sensitive feel and midrange growl, while the neck pickup is particularly fat and velvety. This L-200 weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-50 flatwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
