2014 Hopkins Monarch Regal 18 Carved Top Cutaway Archtop Blonde w/ Kent Armstrong, Case & Hangta
Like the D’Angelico New Yorker and Gibson Super 400 before it, the Monarch Regal features a full 18” lower bout width, yielding commanding projection, percussive midrange chop and note detail with exquisite body and bloom. Strung with flatwound 12-53 strings, this Monarch Regal 18 is notably balanced, with a taut low end that is evenly matched by punchy, crisp trebles. Plugged in, the floating Kent Armstrong mini humbucker delivers a present, defined tone with warm, broad lows and a woody midrange chop. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this Monarch Regal 18 features easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The gloss Blonde nitro lacquer finish highlights the remarkably tight tiger flame figuring in the fiddleback maple back and rims. The neck has also been professionally reset, meeting the body at an ideal angle for decades of future viability, and there is an extremely faint and professionally addressed hairline split in the maple across the heel, smooth to the touch. Sparingly played over the past decade, there are just a couple faint marks on the body as a whole. The smooth nitro gloss on the neck profile is similarly flawless.
The original black tolex hardshell case and serialized hangtag are included.
