1990s Mosrite Ventures Model Excellent ‘65 Sunburst, Nokie Edwards-Signed w/ Case, Japan Kurokumo
Up for sale, a 1990s Mosrite Ventures Model “Excellent ‘65” vintage reissue in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Manufactured in Japan by Kurokumo, this Ventures Model has been signed on top by the Ventures’ Nokie Edwards himself; Edwards is arguably the most influential guitarist in Japanese history, known to the people of Japan as the “King of Guitars” and, alongside the rest of the Ventures, responsible for the “Eleki Boom” explosion of rock & roll popularity that forever changed the landscape of Japanese pop music in the ‘60s.
Expertly constructed to vintage spec, tonewoods include a basswood body with prominent German Carve, a maple neck, and bound slab rosewood fingerboard, yielding a smooth, balanced acoustic tone. These tonewoods provide an ideal platform for the single coil pickup pair which offers a distinct sound in each pickup position. Not as overwound as some, these single coils still deliver a nice kick with great percussive cut and sparkling trebles. Weighing 8lbs 10oz, this Ventures Model “Excellent ‘65” has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
