1953 Gibson L-50 Vintage Carved Top Archtop Acoustic Guitar Sunburst w/ Case

1953 Gibson L-50 Vintage Carved Top Archtop Acoustic Guitar Sunburst w/ Case

Up for sale, a 1953 Gibson L-50 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A model that enjoyed a particularly long production run (1932-71), the L-50 holds the distinction of being the most popular Gibson acoustic archtop ever produced.

A premium archtop with a 16" lower bout and the same general dimensions as the upscale L-4, the L-50 boasts a hand-carved spruce top, maple back and rims, and a one-piece Honduran mahogany neck capped with a bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Equal parts smooth, plucky, and percussive, this Gibson has excellent warmth and articulation. The wound strings offer growl and bloom, the trebles are crisp and sweet, and the guitar yields a midrange-centric woody chop. Weighing 4lbs 9oz, this L-50 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Honduran mahogany
-Shape: “Baseball bat” C, measuring .905” 1st fret, .965” 9th fret

The nitro gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean with restrained wear.
