1984 Tokai Breezysound TTE60 TM T-Style Custom Vintage Guitar Tortoiseshell Mahogany w/ Tweed Case

1984 Tokai Breezysound TTE60 TM T-Style Custom Vintage Guitar Tortoiseshell Mahogany w/ Tweed Case

Up for sale, a circa 1984 Tokai Breezysound model TTE60 TM in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original lacquered tweed hardshell case. Crafted in Japan, this rare Tokai iteration of the Tele Custom platform features a “tortoiseshell” (burled) mahogany top and back, framed by cream binding and accented by gold-plated hardware.

Weighing 8lbs, the burled mahogany veneers are paired with an alder body and a maple neck capped by a rosewood fingerboard. The single coil pickup pair matches ‘60s Fender spec with black fiber bobbins, push-back cloth-covered leads and alnico magnets, offering a bell-like clarity and percussive cut at the neck and chewy, throaty twang at the bridge. This TTE60 TM has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .835” 1st fret, .995” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, vintage-spec 7 ¼” radius
-Frets: Medium, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 ½”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm)
-Headstock: 1984- style logo
-Tuners: “Deluxe” Kluson-style single-line
-Serialization: Six-digit L-prefix stamp (neck plate)

Body Specs:

-Wood: “Tortoiseshell” burled mahogany, alder
-Pickups: TE-Vintage single coil x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Three-way pickup selector
-Harness: Noble pots
-Hardware: “Tokai”-stamped bridge base with six barrel saddles, dome-top knurled knobs (gold-plated)
-Plastics: Three-ply black pickguard, ‘50s-spec switch tip

The unique burled figuring in the bound mahogany top/back is qualified as “tortoiseshell” by Tokai, and cosmetic wear is limited to a small area of buckle rash at the bass-side of the back and some minor dings on the body, largely concentrated at the lower bout. The gloss on the neck profile highlights subtle flame figuring, with a few shallow marks on the profile length.

The original lacquered tweed hardshell case is included.
