1990 Fender Jaguar ‘62 Vintage Reissue JG66-700 Olympic White, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1990 Fender Jaguar ‘62 vintage reissue model JG66-700 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This “Made in Japan” Jaguar was crafted at the Fujigen factory exclusively for the Japanese domestic market during the golden age of Fender Japan production, uncommon outside of its country of origin.

For surfy snap and twang, it's hard to beat the Jaguar, a model adopted by a wide range of genres for its cutting Fender tone and easy playability. With a percussive clarity and snarl in the bridge position and warmer, darker tonalities at the neck, there's a surprisingly wide range of voicings available on the Jaguar, further enhanced by the Rhythm Circuit on the lower bout (for even darker tones) and a bass cut switch on the hexagonal switch plate (for more thinned out, treble-centric sizzle). This Jaguar weighs 8lbs 4oz, professionally setup with 10-46 strings here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, dialed in with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .795” 1st fret, .910” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, leveled/crowned, no wear
-Scale Length: 24”
-Nut: 1 5/8” (replacement)
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” J-prefix
-Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel/pocket, neck heel pencil dated 12-14-90

Body Specs:

-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: JG-Single single coil x2
-Harness: Untouched solder, 1Meg Japanese pots date to September, 1990
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2 (Rhythm/Lead Circuits), Pickup On/Off x2 and Low Cut switch
-Hardware: Vibrato, bridge with spiral (threaded) saddles
-Plastics: Four-ply “tomato soup” red tortoise pickguard, pointer knobs, aged pickup covers

The gloss Olympic White finish exhibits subtle yellowing of the clear coat and limited checking, with some minor dings and finish scratches, largely limited to the lower bout. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with a few shallow nicks along the profile length.

A padded gigbag is included.

***We are dealers for the Mastery bridge (M2 & M10), Mastery OMV-P Vibrato, and Lollar pickups, any of which can be installed or included prior to shipment for an additional charge***
