1990s Aria Pro II Super Bass SB-800 See-through Black Vintage Neck Through Bass, Near-Mint w/ Case & Hangtag

1990s Aria Pro II Super Bass SB-800 See-through Black Vintage Neck Through Bass, Near-Mint w/ Case & Hangtag

Up for sale, a 1990s Aria Pro II Super Bass SB-800 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. A model favored by bass legends like Cliff Burton and Jack Bruce, the Aria Pro II Super Bass is one of the more storied Japanese bass models ever produced, featuring seven-ply neck-through construction and a bevy of tonal sculpting options. This later SB-800 was produced after the Matsumoku factory closed in 1987; the upper-tiered neck-through models, including the SB-800, were among the only instruments that continued to be produced in Japan (production of the majority of the Aria Pro II line was outsourced to the Samick factory in Korea).

The seven-ply neck is crafted from maple and walnut, paired with ash body wings and a slab rosewood fingerboard, ensuring terrific natural sustain and detailed midrange growl. The pair of MB-V humbuckers are punchy and potent, with a beefy, bold low end and plenty of inherent warmth and the Dual Sound (parallel/series) mini-toggles yields thump and roundness in one position and a more focused edge in the other, cutting through a mix very effectively. This Super Bass SB-800 weighs 9lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple/walnut (seven-ply)
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .780” 1st fret, .925” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, pearloid ellipse “eyeball” inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 9/16”, brass
