Up for sale, a 2015 Gibson Custom Shop J-45 Vintage in near-mint, 100% original condition, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Produced in limited quantities at the Bozeman, Montana factory, this round-shoulder dreadnought is a meticulously crafted, exceptionally faithful recreation of the legendary “Banner” J-45. Both construction techniques and materials are carefully selected to ensure vintage accuracy, including a torrefied (thermally aged) Adirondack red spruce top with scalloped X bracing, hot hide glue top bracing, and nitro lacquer VOS Sunburst finish.
With all of those techniques executed to ensure maximum resonance and tonal fortitude, it’s no surprise that this is a particularly vibrant and clear-sounding J-45, immediately lively and robust. As Gibson's most popular dreadnought acoustic guitar since its introduction in 1942, the slope shoulder J-45 design delivers great warmth, excellent projection, and a dynamic response. There’s a bold, brassy growl to the lower register, balanced perfectly by bright, round trebles, resulting in an instrument well-suited to a wide range of applications.
