1982 Fender '57 Stratocaster JV ST57-85 Sunburst w/ USA Fullerton Gray Bobbin Pickups, Japan MIJ Fujigen

1982 Fender '57 Stratocaster JV ST57-85 Sunburst w/ USA Fullerton Gray Bobbin Pickups, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1982 Fender “JV” Stratocaster ‘57 vintage reissue model ST57-85 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in the first few months of Fender Japan output, this "Japanese Vintage" (JV) series guitar has a very low JV00-prefix serial number. In fact, this is the earliest JV-era Fender Japan instrument we’ve ever offered for sale here at the Guitar Bar.

An uncommon higher-tiered model, this Stratocaster boasts the same gray bobbin pickups and steel vibrato block used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year. Extremely accurate to vintage spec and sold only within Japan and to select international territories, tonewoods include an alder body and a one-piece maple neck. The USA-made Fullerton-era pickups have gray bobbin flatwork, delivering an array of vital Strat tonalities with plenty of chime and clarity. The bridge pickup has a bouncy sparkle and clear note attack, the neck is broad and smooth with a woody chop, and the middle pickup is gutsy and full. This JV-era ST57-85 Stratocaster weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
