1984 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 Vintage Reissue ST72-55 Olympic White E-Serial, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1984 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-55 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production, this early “Made in Japan” Strat features a sleek look with a gloss Olympic White finish accented by black plastics. This Stratocaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside its country of origin.

Tonewoods include a basswood body with a one-piece maple neck, and the trio of alnico magnet single coils deliver classic Strat tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch. The neck pickup has a bell-like chime and warmth, the bridge position yields sparkling twang, and the “in-between” positions have a hollow quack. This ST72-55 weighs 8lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple (one-piece)
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .835” 1st fret, .910” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” E-prefix

Body Specs:

-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: ST-Current single coil x3

-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector

The gloss Olympic White finish exhibits gentle yellowing of the clear coat, with cosmetic wear limited to light buckle wear central to the back and a handful of minor marks on the lower bout. The ambered gloss on the neck profile exhibits minor finish loss along the fretboard edges and a few shallow nicks virtually imperceptible to the palm.

A Fender gigbag is included.
