This “Made in Japan” Strat is a non-catalog, custom-ordered instrument, produced at the Fujigen factory as part of Fender Japan’s Order Made program, which functioned as a sort of Japanese custom shop, offering a bevy of non-catalog features and finishes. This particular Strat is essentially a progenitor of Fender Japan’s Yngiwe Malmsteen ST62 model, featuring a scalloped rosewood fretboard and a pair of DiMarzio HS-3 single coil pickups (bridge and neck).
