1989 Fender Order Made '57 Stratocaster Vintage Reissue ST57 Aztec Gold, Japan MIJ Fujigen

1989 Fender Order Made '57 Stratocaster Vintage Reissue ST57 Aztec Gold, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1989 Fender Stratocaster Order Made ‘57 vintage reissue model ST57 in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, 100% original save for a replacement nut and tremolo arm . This rare “Made in Japan” Strat was produced at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production; the Order Made program was a sort of custom shop, offering non-catalog finish and component options. In the case of this particular Strat, those features include a gloss custom color Aztec Gold finish accented by gold hardware.

The trio of single coil pickups feature alnico magnet construction, and these pickups deliver a bevy of classic Strat tonalities: the neck is round and bell-like, and the bridge pickup provides sparkling cut, with thinned-out cut in the "in-between" positions on the five-way switch that has a low noise-floor thanks to the reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup. This Order Made ST57 weighs 7lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .840” 1st fret, .955” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, vintage-spec 7 ¼” radius
-Frets: Slender, leveled/crowned, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 ½”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm) (replacement)
-Tuners: Kluson-style
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” F-prefix
-Factory Markings: Neck heel pencil dated 7-24-89, Order Made information and model stamps on neck heel/pocket

Body Specs:

-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: ST-Vintage single coil x3
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Harness: Full-size Japanese pots date to June, 1989
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup, screws and strap buttons
-Plastics: One-ply white pickguard, gently aged knobs/pickup covers

The gloss custom color Aztec Gold finish exhibits minor finish checking on the top and back at the lower bout (and at the neck heel), and cosmetic wear is limited to a few dings along the body perimeter and a couple buckle scuffs on the back. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with palm wear through the gloss on the treble-side fretboard edge.

A Fender faux leather gigbag is included.
