1992 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 Vintage Reissue ST62-53 Candy Apple Red 100% Original, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1992 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-53 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “Made in Japan” Strat was crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan, produced for the Japanese domestic market and uncommon outside its country of origin.

Tonewoods include an ash body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fingerboard, for a balanced natural acoustic quality. The bridge position has a sparkling upper midrange focused cut, the middle pickup has a percussive snap, and the neck position is throaty and warm while still having a peppy snap in the top end. Positions 2 and 4 on the five-way pickup selector switch offer a thinned-out squawk. Naturally resonant at 9lbs 1oz, this Stratocaster ST62-53 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .850” 1st fret, .990” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 ½”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” L-prefix
-Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel/pocket, neck heel pencil dated 4-17-92

Body Specs:

-Wood: Ash
-Pickups: ST-Vintage single coil x3
-Harness: Full-size Japanese pots date to March, 1992
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup

The gloss Candy Apple Red finish is rich and saturated with a bit of isolated checking adjacent to the jack cup and on the bass-side of the top. There are just a few minor dings on the lower bout, subtle pickwear across the guard, and some light finish scratches. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.

A Fender gigbag is included.
