1993 Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster Butterscotch, Near-Mint w/ Tweed Case

1993 Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster Butterscotch, Near-Mint w/ Tweed Case

Up for sale, a 1993 Fender American Vintage ‘52 Telecaster in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. One of Fender’s most popular (and since discontinued) USA-made vintage reissue models, this Tele is exceedingly faithful to ‘52 “Blackguard” spec, boasting a gloss Butterscotch Blonde nitro lacquer finish atop an ash body, with vintage-spec touches including brass saddles, five-screw pickguard, and flathead screws throughout.

The ash body and one-piece maple neck result in a lively, resonant acoustic platform with plenty of midrange potency, providing an ideal platform for the pickup pair. Featuring Alnico magnets, black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and flush-mount bridge pickup pole pieces, these pickups can chime and twang with the best, delivering the percussive cut and bell-like clarity that put Fender on the map more than seven decades ago. Weighing 8lbs, this American Vintage ‘52 Telecaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, full shoulders, measuring .835” 1st fret, .910” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, 7 ¼” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, leveled/crowned, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 ½”
-Nut: 1.650”
-Tuners: Kluson-style (replacement)
-Factory Markings: Neck pocket date stamped Nov 13, 1993

Body Specs:

-Wood: Ash
-Pickups: American Vintage single coil x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Three-way pickup selector (modern wiring)
-Harness: CTS 250K pots date to 35th week of ‘93
-Hardware: “Pat. Pend” bridge base with brass barrel saddles (replacement), dome-top knurled knobs, all flathead screws
-Plastics: One-ply “Blackguard”-style five-screw matte black pickguard, ‘50s-spec switch tip

Well-kept for over three decades, this Telecaster is 100% original save for the properly-spec’d Kluson-style tuners and bridge with brass saddles. Extra mounting holes from a different tuner set are concealed beneath the current gears.

The gloss Butterscotch Blonde nitro lacquer finish highlights the broad, dynamic grain of the ash body, and cosmetic wear is limited to a couple tiny finish chips on the back by the string ferrules and some minor finish scratches on the top and back. The ambered nitro gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth, with a few shallow nicks along the profile length.

The original tweed hardshell case is included.
