1993 Fender Order Made Telecaster '72 Vintage Reissue Butterscotch Lacquer, Japan MIJ Fujigen

1993 Fender Order Made Telecaster '72 Vintage Reissue Butterscotch Lacquer, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1993 Fender “Order Made” Telecaster ‘72 vintage reissue model TL72 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This “Made in Japan” Tele was crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan as part of the Order Made program, which offered numerous non-catalog finish and component options. In the case of this particular Telecaster, the premium feature is the gloss Butterscotch nitro lacquer finish (the TL72 was otherwise always a poly-finished model).

Tonewoods include an ash body with a one-piece maple neck, yielding a bold, lively natural acoustic quality with a complex midrange character that’s faithfully captured by the pair of single coil pickups. The pickups yield Tele twang and snap, with gutsy punch at the bridge and broader, bell-like cut at the neck. This TL72 weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .860” 1st fret, .945” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” O-prefix
-Factory stamps: Order Made stamps on neck heel/pocket

Body Specs:

-Wood: Ash
-Pickups: TL-Current single coil x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Three-way pickup selector

-Hardware: “Pat. Pend” bridge with steel barrel saddles, flat-top knurled knobs

The gloss Butterscotch nitro lacquer finish is deeply ambered, with some pick scuffing across the guard, one chip on the treble-side body edge, and a couple lines of broad finish checking (lower bout on top). The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
