2023 Fender Heritage ‘60s Stratocaster Candy Apple Red Lacquer, Near-Mint w/ Tags, Japan MIJ
Extremely rare outside Japan and arguably among the finest Japanese-made Stratocasters ever produced (certainly in modern times), this Stratocaster boasts a gloss Candy Apple Red nitro lacquer finish, vintage spec hardware and plastics, black bobbin USA pickups, USA-spec CTS pots, and cloth-covered leads used throughout the harness.
Traditional tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fingerboard with clay dot inlay, yielding a smooth and balanced natural acoustic tone. The black bobbin pickups feature staggered alnico magnets and have excellent bounce and sparkle, sweet and clear in every pickup position with a woody cut. Simply put, these are some of the finest pickups we’ve heard in any Made in Japan Stratocaster. This Heritage Collection ‘60s Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: “Thick C,” measuring .840” 1st fret, .980” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 ¼” vintage-spec radius, clay dot inlay
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 ½”
-Nut: 1.615” (41.02mm), bone
-Tuners: Fender Deluxe Pure Vintage single-line
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” JD22-prefix (dates to January, ‘23)
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Premium Vintage-Style ‘60s Single coil x3
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Harness: CTS 250k pots, ceramic tone cap
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply mint pickguard (factory protective film and advert intact), eggshell knobs/pickup covers
The gloss Candy Apple Red nitro lacquer finish is dark and well-saturated, and there’s just one small ding on the bass-side perimeter at the arm contour. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded gigbag and all hangtags are included.
