Up for sale, a 2005 Fender Jimi Hendrix ‘68 Stratocaster model ST68-JH in showroom-clean condition, upgraded with a set of Fender’s Custom Shop ‘69 single coils and complete with a molded hardshell case. This rare “Crafted in Japan” model is designed as a faithful recreation of one of Jimi Hendrix’s most iconic Strats, strung for right-handed use with a reverse body.
Tonewoods include an alder body and a maple neck with a maple cap fretboard, weighing 8lbs 3oz. The trio of upgraded Custom Shop Custom ‘69 single coil pickups offer quintessential Stratocaster tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch, featuring period-correct construction with gray fiber bobbins, formvar wire, Alnico magnets (right-handed stagger), and cloth-covered leads. From Monterey Pop to Woodstock, these pickups can deliver the goods, handling gain well with plenty of articulate sparkle and spank. This Jimi Hendrix ST68-JH has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
