2006 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 Vintage Reissue ST72-66US Olympic White w/ American Vintage 57/62 Pickups, Japan CIJ

Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-66US in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “Crafted in Japan” Strat is uncommon outside of its country of origin, featuring a set of Fender's American Vintage 57/62 single coil pickups and ‘70s-spec appointments including a large headstock with block logo, black-on-white plastics, three-bolt neck plate, and block saddles.

Fender’s American Vintage 57/62 single coil pickups feature black fiber bobbins, staggered alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads, and these pickups deliver a bevy of traditional Strat tonalities. The neck pickup is full and bell-like, with a throaty zing, the bridge has great sparkle and snap, and the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch yield hollow spank. This Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 6oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .830” 1st fret, .900” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, pristine
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Gotoh
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan”, R-prefix

Body Specs:

-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: American Vintage 57/62 single coil x3
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Vintage-spec Synchronized Tremolo with block saddles, jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply white pickguard, black pickup covers/knobs/switch tip

The gloss finish is categorized as Yellow White by Fender Japan, approximating the yellowing that occurs on an Olympic White finish over time. Cosmetic wear is limited to a cluster of small nicks on the back at the bass-side lower bout and just a few lesser marks on the top and perimeter. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
