2009 Fender Jaguar HH Kurt Cobain HJG-66KC IV Ikebe Limited Model w/ USA Dimarzio Pickups, Japan MIJ

Up for sale, a 2009 Fender Jaguar ‘66 vintage reissue Kurt Cobain model HJG-66KC IV in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Easily the rarest iteration of the Kurt Cobain Jaguar platform, this guitar was part of a small run made for Fender Japan in collaboration with the Japanese music store chain Ikebe. Officially model HJG-66KC IV, this Jaguar features USA-made Dimarzio DP103 PAF and DP100 Super Distortion humbuckers, a Tune-o-matic bridge, vintage-accurate Sunburst finish, and standard control configuration (differentiating it from the other two sub-models, the V and VI).

The DP103 PAF in the neck position has a traditional Gibson-style tonal range with excellent dynamics and articulation, full and powerful-sounding. The DP100 Super Distortion in the bridge position is Dimarzio's iconic high powered humbucker, designed to kick your amp into overdrive and perfectly tailored to Nirvana-style ripping distortion. This Kurt Cobain HJG-66KC IV weighs 8lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .840” 1st fret, .950” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius, dot inlays
-Frets: Slender, light wear beneath the plain strings on 1-3
-Scale Length: 24”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” T-prefix
-Factory Markings: Model stamp on neck heel

Body Specs:

-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: DiMarzio DP103 PAF (N), DP100 Super Distortion (B)
-Controls: Volume and Tone x2 (Rhythm and Lead Circuits; independent Volume controls for Lead circuit), “Strangle” switch, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: ABR-1-style bridge, vibrato, control plates
-Plastics: Four-ply tortoise pickguard, black pointer knobs

The unique Sunburst gloss finish is highly accurate to Cobain's guitar with a more yellow center (given the sealer coat Fender was using on their Sunbursts in the mid 60s), with a simulated faded central ring of red and dark black edges. Cosmetic wear is limited to buckle scuffing central to the upper bout on the back and some minor dings and finish scratches consistent with careful use. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
