2017 Fender Hybrid '60s Stratocaster Candy Apple Red w/ USA Pickups, Japan MIJ
The perfect marriage of Vintage and Modern, the Hybrid '60 model is true to its name, yet the tonal range of the instrument is firmly in the Vintage camp. The alder body is a resonant, balanced tonal platform for the Texas Special single coils; these Custom Shop Fender pickups match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and beveled, staggered alnico magnets. They deliver a great range of sparkling classic Strat tonalities with an aggressive overwound snap. The bridge pickup is twangy and chewy, the neck has a full, bell-like cut, and the “in-between” positions have ample hollow quack. This Hybrid ‘60s Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
