John Suhr has more than 45 years of guitar building experience, including leading Fender's Custom Shop as a Senior Master Builder. Bringing his wealth of experience to his own brand beginning in 1997, the Suhr Modern Antique takes the traditional Stratocaster platform and seamlessly blends both vintage and modern features for the ultimate in performance and playability. This particular Modern Antique boasts an HSH pickup complement, heavily figured roasted flame maple neck, and a gloss Burgundy Mist nitro lacquer finish with Suhr’s Medium Aging treatment.
A roasted alder body and roasted flame maple fretboard round out the tonewood complement, and this guitar weighs 7lbs 7oz. Acoustically, this guitar is warm and resonant; qualities faithfully translated by the stock HSH pickup complement.
