Meticulously handcrafted in Turner, Maine by master luthier Chuck Thornton, CP Thornton guitars are forward-thinking, exquisite boutique instruments with premium tonewoods, components, and construction. The neck is carved from 5A Eastern curly maple and forms the centerblock of the body, which features a 5A Western curly maple top/back and 5A Eastern curly maple sides. The resulting acoustic profile is rich and resonant, indeed effectively combining the depth and openness of a semi-hollow instrument with the sustain and consistency of a neck-through one, providing an ideal platform for the pair of Lollar humbuckers and enabling unparalleled upper-fret access via the contoured heelless design.
